New Jersey Devils
While the New York Islanders dominated the 1980's, winning four Metropolitan Division titles, the next two decades very much belonged to the New Jersey Devils, who claimed 9 between 1996-2010. Hall of Fame goaltender and current team Executive Vice President and Advisor of Hockey Operations Martin Brodeur was the only member of the roster for all 9 championships.
In the 2023-24 season, the Devils and Islanders have faced off in three games thus far, with the Devils coming out on top in both. The Devils trailed 4-2 into the 3rd period of their November 28 matchup against the Islanders, only to come back and win by 1 with mere seconds left in the final period. The Devils dominated the Islanders again on March 24 in a shutout victory.
