    Creed is an American rock band that emerged in the late 1990s, achieving significant commercial success and widespread popularity. Formed in 1994 in Tallahassee, Florida, the band consisted of vocalist Scott Stapp, guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips.Creed's music is characterized by its anthemic rock sound, featuring powerful vocals, melodic guitar riffs, and emotionally charged lyrics. Their debut album, "My Own Prison," released in 1997, propelled them to fame with hit singles like "My Own Prison" and "One." The album's introspective lyrics and soaring melodies resonated with audiences, earning Creed a dedicated fanbase.In 1999, Creed released their sophomore album, "Human Clay," which became a massive commercial success. Led by the chart-topping single "Higher," the album solidified Creed's status as one of the leading rock bands of the era. Other notable tracks from "Human Clay" include "With Arms Wide Open" and "What If."Despite their success, Creed faced internal tensions and conflicts within the band, leading to a temporary breakup in 2004.
