Ready to PLAY? Let’s have some fun in the sun!
We are so excited to have our Young Athletes and Families join us for the 2024 Special Olympics New Jersey Summer Games for children ages 2-7 with and without intellectual disabilities to share the joy of sports and play in an inclusive space for all abilities.
To participate in our Young Athletes Events, you must be registered as a Young Athlete with Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ).
Opening Ceremony: Friday, June 7
Young Athletes Events: Saturday, June 8 OR Sunday, June 9
Participate in FUN sport stations replicating SONJ Traditional Sports, run in our Future Stars Race and receive a Medal, and so much MORE!

41st Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run
2024 marks the 41st Annual New Jersey Law Enforcement Torch Run, with this year’s run on Friday, June 7th. Sign up today to take part in this milestone event and carry the “Flame of Hope” through your town and spread awareness for Special Olympics New Jersey!

Healthy Athletes at Summer Games

Special Olympics New Jersey will be offering the following Healthy Athletes disciplines alongside Summer Games on Saturday June 8, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
(Opening Eyes will close at 3:00 p.m.)

- Healthy Hearing
- Health Promotions
- Opening Eyes
- Strong Minds
- Special Smiles
Please note that due to the projected popularity of the event, space may be limited. We will do our best to accommodate all, but unfortunately it is not guaranteed that we will be able to accommodate all athletes. Spots are available on a first come, first serve basis.
All registered SONJ athletes are welcome to attend Healthy Athletes, even if you are not competing the weekend of Summer Games. Please email Amelia Hamilton to let her know you plan to attend and come between the times listed above. No pre-registration is required
