      Cage the Elephant is an American rock band formed in 2006 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The band consists of lead vocalist Matt Shultz, rhythm guitarist Brad Shultz, drummer Jared Champion, bassist Daniel Tichenor, and lead guitarist Nick Bockrath, with keyboardist Matthan Minster joining the lineup in 2019.Cage the Elephant rose to prominence with their self-titled debut album, released in 2008. The album featured hit singles like "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked" and "Back Against the Wall," which received significant airplay and critical acclaim. Their energetic live performances and eclectic mix of garage rock, punk, and blues elements helped them stand out in the alternative rock scene.The band's success continued with subsequent albums such as "Thank You, Happy Birthday" (2011), which showcased a more experimental and raw sound, and "Melophobia" (2013), which earned them a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album. Tracks like "Come a Little Closer" and "Cigarette Daydreams" from "Melophobia" further solidified their place in the alternative rock landscape.In 2015, Cage the Elephant released their fourth studio album, "Tell Me I'm Pretty," produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. The album received critical acclaim and won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album, while the single "Mess Around" earned the band a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance.Their subsequent albums, "Social Cues" (2019) and "Unpeeled" (2017), continued to showcase their versatility and evolution as a band, with tracks exploring themes of mental health, relationships, and societal issues.Cage the Elephant is known for their dynamic live performances, with Matt Shultz's charismatic stage presence and unpredictable antics often stealing the show.
