Langis, the relationship intelligence platform built by South Jersey entrepreneur Edward DuCoin, has joined the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce, extending a national strategy built on a simple observation from the pandemic era, that professional networks did not need more events, they needed better introductions.
A Laurel Springs Startup Is Trying to Solve Networking With Math, One Chamber at a Time
A technology company based in Laurel Springs is betting that the future of business networking looks less like a mixer and more like a matching algorithm. Langis, which describes itself as a Connection Intelligence Platform, has joined the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce, marking its entry into one of Texas’s most established business communities and extending a national growth strategy that has, until now, largely played out closer to home.
The company’s origin story traces back to the pandemic, when its founders started a virtual networking group called Virtual 5 O’Clock. What they learned from running it became the foundation for the entire business. Members did not actually need more events or a bigger contact directory, they needed the right introduction, made for the right reason, at the right moment. That insight led to roughly eighteen months of development and, eventually, to what Langis calls its patent pending Connection Compatibility Algorithm, the technology now at the center of its pitch to chambers of commerce, alumni associations, and professional societies across the country.
The Math Behind the Pitch
Langis leans heavily on scale to make its case to organizations considering membership. In a group of 1,000 members, the company points out, there are nearly 500,000 possible one to one introductions that could theoretically happen. At 2,000 members, that number climbs to almost 2 million potential pairings, a scale no individual member, or even a full time chamber staff, could realistically sort through on their own. Langis’s software is built to do exactly that sorting, using an AI assistant the company calls Luna to analyze behavioral data and surface the specific introductions most likely to actually matter to both people involved.
The company offers two tiers of that service. Langis Direct works from an organization’s existing member directory to generate compatibility reports explaining why two members might benefit from connecting and how. Langis Engage is a deeper, enterprise level offering in which an organization feeds in its own goals, criteria, and internal data, letting the algorithm assess potential matches against a more customized set of parameters. To support that kind of data driven matching at scale, the platform integrates directly into common business software, syncing with Microsoft ecosystems, major customer relationship management platforms, and core HR systems, allowing it to draw on communication patterns organizations already have running through their existing tools rather than requiring members to adopt something entirely new.
Why Dallas, and Why a Chamber
Founded in 1954, the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce has spent more than seven decades building out a network that now includes upward of 500 member businesses spanning virtually every industry in the region. Megan McQuery, the chamber’s chief operating officer, welcomed Langis’s membership by framing it around the organization’s existing culture, noting that members get the most value from the chamber when they show up ready to help other businesses first, a philosophy that lines up closely with the reciprocity based approach Langis has built its own product around.
For Langis, the appeal of a chamber like NDCC comes down to concentration. Business leaders, growth stage companies, and professional service firms cluster inside organizations like this precisely because a single well timed introduction inside that kind of room can meaningfully change a company’s trajectory, and Langis is positioning its software as the tool that makes those introductions less a matter of chance and more a matter of design. The company has stressed that its relationship with NDCC is membership only, with no formal commercial partnership between the two organizations and no data access beyond what any other chamber member would have.
A South Jersey Entrepreneur With a Long Track Record
Langis’s national ambitions trace back to a founder with deep, established roots in South Jersey’s business community. Edward DuCoin has spent his career building and running a cluster of ventures largely out of the Laurel Springs and greater Philadelphia area, anchored by Orpical, a digital transformation agency he established in 2012 that now functions as the operational and development backbone for his other companies. His portfolio also includes Right Insulation, a New Jersey based residential and commercial energy efficiency firm focused on blown in insulation and solar systems, along with Go Get Secure, a cybersecurity platform centered on ethical hacking resources and defensive protection, and Attics and More, a smaller affiliate marketing and lead generation site offering consumer guidance on roofing and ventilation.
DuCoin’s earlier career included founding Impact Marketing, which later went public on the NASDAQ under the name Compass International, along with a stint as president of the NASCAR team Bang Racing, a resume that spans public markets, professional sports, and technology consulting well before Langis existed. That breadth appears to inform how DuCoin talks about the company’s current expansion, treating chamber memberships not as one off marketing wins but as deliberate entries into trusted, pre-existing communities where Langis believes its software can prove its value fastest. With North Dallas now added to that list, the company’s national chamber strategy has its first confirmed foothold outside New Jersey, a small but telling step for a platform whose entire premise rests on how much value sits inside relationships that already exist, waiting for the right introduction to activate them.
