Einhorn Barbarito has named Rudolf Lys its new executive director, filling a role that had sat vacant since before he joined the firm nearly six years ago as director of accounting.

Einhorn, Barbarito, Frost, Botwinick, Nunn and Musmanno has promoted Rudolf Lys to executive director, elevating him from the firm’s accounting department into a role overseeing daily administrative operations across the Parsippany based practice. The firm announced the promotion in an August 5th press release, capping a nearly six year run in which Lys steadily expanded his responsibilities well beyond the scope of the role he was originally hired for.
Lys joined Einhorn Barbarito in November 2020 as director of accounting. According to the firm, he took on responsibilities extending well past traditional accounting duties over the years that followed, gradually becoming an integral part of the firm’s broader operations. As executive director, he will now formally oversee the firm’s daily administrative functions and supervise its administrative professionals, filling a position that had remained vacant before his promotion.
A Track Record Built Across Multiple Offices
The firm’s leadership was direct in crediting Lys with tangible operational wins rather than framing the promotion purely as a reward for tenure. Nunn said Lys had demonstrated exceptional dedication and consistently stepped forward to take on complex operational challenges, specifically pointing to his role in onboarding new teams, reorganizing the firm’s Hackensack office, and implementing more efficient processes across the organization. Co-Managing Partner Gary Botwinick echoed that assessment, saying he and Nunn had come to rely on Lys’s judgment and his ability to drive meaningful change, calling the firm fortunate to have him on its leadership team.
Human Resources Director Melissa Schmieder framed the promotion as recognition of trust built over time, saying Lys had earned the confidence of the firm’s leadership through a collaborative approach, operational expertise, and consistent commitment to excellence. Lys, a graduate of the State University of New York at Old Westbury, shared his own reaction on LinkedIn, expressing excitement about formally stepping into the new role at what he described as one of the best law firms in the state.

The promotion arrives at a moment of broader recognition for Einhorn Barbarito’s leadership. Co-Managing Partners Nunn and Botwinick were both recently named to the 2026 NJBIZ Law Power List, adding to a run of positive attention for a firm that has called Morris County home since its founding in 1961.
