Cranford Thursdays at the Clock: Forget The Whale

It’s been said that of all the things Forget the Whale has, a sound is not one of them, not because they lack a sound, but because blues, rock, alternative, R&B, country, funk, and nu-metal all become ingredients in the band’s veritable witches’ brew. Originally formed in Jersey City in 2014, the band made an immediate impression, with Forget the Whale is the band to see emerging as one of the first reactions from their debut showcase at Rolf’s Restaurant and Pub in Warren, NJ. Since then, the group has expanded from a four-piece into a Jersey City septet, now bringing together powerhouse female vocals, a punchy horn section, and hook-driven pop and rock songwriting into a sound that’s as hard to categorize as it is impossible to stand still for. The band has filled notable venues on both sides of the Hudson River, including The Bitter End in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village and Brooklyn’s Matchless Bar, alongside New Jersey stages like Crossroads and Dingbatz, delivering original, fresh material built specifically for high-energy live performance.
