San Patricios is one of Jersey City’s most talked-about new restaurants, opening its doors on September 19 at 8 Erie Place. Brought to life by the award-winning team behind New York City’s renowned cocktail bar The Dead Rabbit, this highly anticipated pub and cantina blends two rich cultures into one unforgettable experience.

Described as the place “where the Irish heart meets the Mexican soul,” San Patricios draws inspiration from the San Patricio Battalion, a group of Irish soldiers who stood with Mexico during the Mexican-American War in the mid-1800s. The result is a unique concept that celebrates shared heritage while showcasing the distinct flavors, music, and artistry of both countries.

The space itself tells the story, combining the rustic charm of a traditional Irish pub with the colorful vibrancy of a Mexican cantina. Interiors feature worn wood, Talavera tiles, striking murals, small altar walls, and trilingual signage in English, Irish, and Spanish—making every detail a cultural experience in its own right.

The beverage program is as bold as the design. Guests can enjoy Guinness and Pacifico on tap or explore an extensive back bar featuring Irish Whiskey, Poitín, Tequila, Mezcal, and rare Mexican agave spirits like Raicilla, Bacanora, and Sotol. Standout cocktails include the San Patricio Coffee, blending tequila, Irish whiskey, and rich coffee, as well as inventive creations like the Chappara with Mexican gin, prickly pear, and lemongrass.

On the food side, San Patricios offers playful, cross-cultural dishes ranging from bocadillos and tacos to hearty plates.
