Keefe comes to New Jersey after an illustrious five-season tenure as head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs, starting from the 2019-20 season when he assumed the role on November 20, 2019. During his time with the Maple Leafs, Keefe amassed an impressive record of 212-97-40, boasting a remarkable points percentage of .665. His regular season win tally places him fifth among all head coaches in Toronto’s franchise history, while his points percentage ranks first. Keefe also holds the distinction of being the second-fastest coach in NHL history to reach 200 wins, guiding Toronto to five consecutive postseason appearances.
