Their follow-up EP Losing Light and a series of evocative singles have continued to expand their sonic palette. Will Sheff, frontman of Okkervil River, has earned a reputation as one of indie rock’s most visionary songwriters. His 2022 solo debut Nothing Special was widely praised for its introspective beauty, with The New York Times calling it a work that “harnesses both the glow of poetry and the gravity of hymns.”
