The Trenton Thunder were a Minor League Baseball team based in Trenton, New Jersey. They were the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees until 2020 when the team was disbanded as part of Major League Baseball's restructuring of the minor leagues. The team played at Arm & Hammer Park, which was previously known as Waterfront Park.The Thunder were known for their passionate fan base and strong ties to the New Jersey area. Over the years, they produced a number of notable major league players, especially from the Yankees organization, such as Derek Jeter, Babe Ruth, and Aaron Judge, who all spent time with the team in their minor league careers.The team was an important part of the community, providing entertainment and fostering a love for baseball in the region. The team’s mascot, Boomer, was a fan favorite, and the Thunder’s games were known for their lively atmosphere.
