John Hathaway & The Grey Riders

John Hathaway and Grey Riders return to Lizzie Rose for another night of their original tunes and a mix of Neil Young and other southern/country rock gems. Their new CD “Before My Time” debuted in May ‘25 and can be heard on Spotify and other streaming platforms. The title track and “Ride Along” have also found airtime on Brookdale College’s radio station 90.5 The Night and the What’s Happening show on North of Boston Radio 94.9.
John Hathaway has been performing at Lizzie for about ten years now in various incarnations (including the Neil Young tribute band Sugar Mountain) and always delivers a crowd pleasing performance. Sugaray Rayford

Sugaray Rayford is a man with a message and a larger than life personality and voice to deliver it. Working with producer, songwriter Eric Corne for the past 3 albums, the soul-blues powerhouse has crafted an incendiary sound and narrative, combining classic soul melodies and funky R & B grooves with raw blues power.
The pair’s first collaboration, Somebody Save Me, earned Rayford a 2020 Grammy nomination. Later that year he took home Blues Music Awards for ‘Soul Blues Male Artist’ and ‘B.B. King Entertainer of the Year.’ Rayford’s follow up In Too Deep won a plethora of awards including the Blues Music Award for ‘Soul Blues Album of the Year’.
Rayford’s new release is entitled ‘Human Decency’. The title track is a simple reminder that our similarities are stronger than our differences and in the end, there is no black or white or left or right, there are only hearts and minds. About the leadoff single, “Run For Cover” a song that takes no prisoners, Q Magazine declares, “The bluesey soul of Rayford comes on full steam with this powerhouse single.”

Professor Louie With the Woodstock Horns

Grammy Nominated Professor Louie & The Crowmatix from Woodstock, NY have been performing since the year 2000 at numerous Festivals, Theaters, Clubs and Art Centers averaging 150 shows a year.
They have been expanding the borders of the Americana, Roots & Blues genres with consistent shows and Professor Louies stories, keyboard playing, singing and accordion. Their repertoire continual expands with Crowmatix songs from their 17 Albums of Originals, Blues and Americana music— and the songs Louie learned and helped create directly with the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame group The Band when he collaborated with them for over 15 years. Co-producing The Bands last three CDs including their comeback hits Atlantic City & Blind Willie Mctell along with many of their 90s repertoire. Rick Danko gave Louie the moniker Professor Louie. Professor Louie & The Crowmatix have created varied shows such as Music Of The Band along with original and roots songs from their seventeen releases.

Bees Deluxe

Bees Deluxe pushes the limits of convention and twists the blues to create a sound that is unique, highly musical yet deeply respectful of the blues tradition. Their sound is an amalgam of blues idioms, 80’s New Wave, Second Wave Ska and jazz standards. They are touring in support of their new album “Hallucinate” which has been getting great reviews from the blues and Roots Americana press while their live performances are getting rave reviews from music venues up and down the east coast.
For those of you who have experienced their invigorating performances already you know what they bring to the table every time they take the stage. Renee Maskin is a singer-songwriter from the vibrant music city of Asbury Park, New Jersey. She combines earthy song craft with ambient textures and wry lyrics, a sound that’s both familiar and unconventional at once.
Having cut her teeth in bands over the past several decades, Maskin’s solo debut, Swimming, was recorded in 2020 as a result of the pandemic lockdown. UK’s The Rodeo hailed it as “indie-rock at its finest.” Her follow-up 2023 LP with The Mysterious Wilds, featuring Mike Noordzy and Ben Ross, debuted at #1 on the NACC Folk chart. She rounded out that year with another LP, Shimmer with Maskin back in the producer chair. The record received many accolades, including being named one of the top national releases of 2023 by The Aquarian, and New Jersey Stage Magazine giving Maskin the title of “Songwriter of the Year”.

Skyla Burrell was born in Los Angeles and raised in Orange County, California. Skyla formed her first band at the age of 13 and has been a working musician ever since. Skyla played with several bands as a teenager and young adult, working her way up and down Southern California. She relocated to the East Coast in her early 20’s where she continued learning and growing from her musical experiences and eventually co-forming the Skyla Burrell Band. In addition to her singing, writing and guitar duties, Skyla also plays the piano.

The Harrisons

The Harrisons are a powerhouse husband and wife music duo that tours all over the NJ/NY/PA tri-state area. Performing nearly every genre of music on a wide variety of instruments (usually more than one at a time!), Christian and Jennifer create the sound of a full rock band with only two people!
Besides their busy gigging schedule, The Harrisons also compose, record, and produce their own original music in house at Grasshopper Studios located in their home in Andover, NJ.The Harrisons perform at a wide variety of venues.

Stone Flower

A shared vision to create a truly authentic, high energy tribute to Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame artist, Carlos Santana, resulted in the formation of The StoneFlower Band in 2010. The name was adopted from a song on the Caravanserai Album, which represents a pivotal period in the evolution of the iconic Santana sound. The collaboration of these brilliantly paired musicians reproduces this sound with spot-on precision. StoneFlower’s seemingly effortless syncopation of percussion delivers a spellbinding resonance that gets the audience moving …in their seat or on their feet.
Over the years StoneFlower has enjoyed expanding their musical repertoire for their fans to include other great rock n’ roll bands such as: The Rolling Stones, The Doobie Brothers, David Bowie, Chicago, The Grateful Dead and more. Multi-instrumentalist Matt Turk and Grammy award winner C Lanzbom joined forces to form Deadgrass, a string band adventure through Jerry Garcia’s musical world. Bassist Dave Richards, banjo player Boo Reiners and fiddler Ken Shoji complete this fine group of seasoned pros exploring the life works of Jerry Garcia on the instruments that first inspired him. Deadgrass celebrates and interprets the music of Jerry Garcia, drawing from Old & in the Way, JGB, Jerry’s Jug Band days and The Grateful Dead.

This studio album (their fourth) delivers twelve foot-stomping wise-cracking contemporary songs, a combination of rockabilly, jazz, blues, rock, and big band swing.

Alexis Suter Band

Sahara Moon

Ms. Moon is a local Tuckerton woman who has performed at the Lizzie Rose open mic’s many times before moving to Nashville to pursue her singing career.
Sahara Moon is a singer-songwriter who appears at theaters in the New York and Philadelphia area along with many other music venues throughout the tri-state region. More recently, she has relocated to Nashville, TN to expand her fan base throughout the southern states. Moon’s songwriting has been recognized for its sense of vulnerability within her lyrics as well as her vocal and guitar techniques inspired by two female artists, Norah Jones and Brandi Carlile. She has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with national acts, including: BlackBerry Smoke, Billy Currington, The Marshall Tucker Band, Robert Cray Band, and many more.

Zannia Moon​
Her journey began in theater, but she soon found her voice through the ukulele and piano, taking the stage for live performances at just eleven years old, following in the footsteps of her older sister Sahara Moon. With a natural gift for songwriting and a deep love.

We are proud to announce that Jax Hollow will be appearing at the Lizzie Rose Music Room. Do not let her small size fool you, this woman is fire and can kick butt with the best guitar slingers out today. She has an angelic voice that can be sweet and seductive and then turn it all around and get up in your face and pin you in your seat with a gut punch vocal. The same goes for her ability on the guitar where she can shred when needed, then do a smokin’ ballad and then kick out some great rock blues. Jax has been getting a lot of great reviews for her live performances and she has been wowing audiences at several important venues. She is touring with a power trio set up that backs her up nicely and gives her a lot of room to explore around the melodies of the original compositions she has written. So, we are lucky to have been able to book her and we are certain that she will be ready to burn up the Lizzie Rose. Be sure to get your tickets early because once word gets out about this woman tickets will be gone quickly. Jax is a graduate of the prestigious Berkeley School of Music and got a standing ovation for her performance when she opened up for Melissa Ethridge on July 20th, 2023.

Popa Chubby has been hard rocking the blues in his fierce and soulful way for more than 30 years. Over the course of a career that dates back to 1994, he has been a force to be reckoned with on the guitar, and his tempestuous, soulful playing has never been more powerful. An imposing figure with a shaved head, tattooed arms, a goatee and a performance style he describes as “the Stooges meets Buddy Guy, Motörhead meets Muddy Waters, and Jimi Hendrix meets Robert Johnson,” Popa Chubby is an endearing character who is one of the genre’s most popular figures

Indigenous

The band Indigenous will be making their Debut at the Lizzie Rose Music Room on July 16th. You might probably remember them from their debut album Things We Do that was released in 1999. The track “Now That You’re Gone ” reached #22 on Billboards Rock/ Blues chart and they have appeared on Conan O’Brians late night show, Austin City Limits, CBS Saturday Morning Show and they toured with B. B. King on his Blues History Tour. The band has also toured with Santana, Bonnie Raitt, Dave Matthews and Jackson Browne.
This is an all Native American band composed of family members. The band has a serious Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix vibe throughout their original compositions. Mato says that his guitar style is influenced by these two guitar greats, but it is not meant to copy them. The band has continued to tour the west coast, Midwest and are now expanding out to the east coast. This will prove to be a great night of rock blues and a delight for all the guitar players in South Jersey.

About the OCC Repertory Theater Company
Under the direction of Performing Arts Program Chair Paul Chalakani, the mission of the OCC/REP is to create opportunities for college and community participation in various rich and diverse theatrical experiences. The Company seeks to engage, entertain, inspire, and educate to enhance the cultural life of Ocean County College and the surrounding communities. The OCC/REP provides OCC students, faculty, staff, and residents of neighboring communities the opportunity to attend and/or participate in quality performances of theatrical works – musicals and plays, classical and modern, traditional and experimental, through a well-balanced theatrical season. Additionally, the OCC/REP provides an environment for students of our performing arts program to apply what they are learning in a collaborative and encouraging format. Darrah Carr Dance

Since 1998, the Bessie Award-nominated company Darrah Carr Dance has created a sensational and unique blend of traditional Irish step and contemporary dance. The company draws from Irish music, step dance footwork, and spatial patterns to create high-energy, rhythmically based work that is accessible to a broad audience.
Recent New York City performance highlights include: NBC’s “The Today Show,“ a guest performance with The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall, the company’s annual season at The Irish Arts Center, “The Yeats Project“ at the Irish Repertory Theatre, The Duke Theater on 42nd Street, Celebrate Brooklyn, Snug Harbor Cultural Center, the annual NYC Irish Dance Festival, “Stam-pede“ Percussive Dance Festival at Symphony Space and a guest appearance with Mick Moloney at the Skirball Center.
The company has performed at venues throughout the United States including MASS MoCA, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, The Yard at Martha’s Vineyard, Wesleyan University (Connecticut), The Center for Performing Arts and SUNY Orange (upstate New York), The Dance Complex, Summer Stages Dance, and the JFK Museum (Massachusetts), The Goose Route Dance Festival (West Virginia), The Valentine Theatre (Ohio), St. Mary’s University (Minnesota) and the San Jose Fleadh (California). They have also appeared at the Toronto Fringe Festival, the Hunter Mountain Celtic Festival, and at the Bank of Ireland Arts Center in Dublin. In addition, they frequently conduct national tours with The Andy Cooney Band.
Her Irish Extravaganza (Irish duets, and traditional Irish group dances) features live music and champion Irish step dancers who have garnered awards at numerous competitions on both the national and international circuit. Darrah Carr Dance also features a wide variety of outreach and educational programs.
Darrah Carr Dance has received funding from numerous sources, including commissions from Trinity Irish Dance’s Junior Company and the One World Foundation, a fellowship from Summer Stages Dance, and grants from the American Ireland Fund, the Fund for Creative Communities, the Manhattan Community Arts Fund, The Brooklyn Arts Council, the Davenport Fund, and the Outer/Space program administered by Dance Theater Workshop.

This holiday season, Cherish the Ladies presents their beloved Celtic Christmas program, a festive and family-friendly concert featuring their signature sound on classic carols, including “Angels We Have Heard on High,” “The First Noel,” and “Silent Night.” Each song is beautifully arranged to showcase their Celtic instrumentation, rich harmonies, and remarkable step dancing. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, this annual Christmas tour has been complemented by four acclaimed holiday albums: “On Christmas Night,” “A Star in the East,” “Christmas in Ireland,” and “Christmas Live from County Clare.”
The concert features an outstanding lineup of musicians, including Joanie Madden on flute, whistles, and vocals; Mary Coogan on guitar and mandolin; Mirella Murray on accordion; Nollaig Casey on fiddle; Gabriel Donohue on piano; and lead vocals and guitar by Kate Purcell, Don Stiffe, and Bruce Foley.
Adding to the magic, extraordinary step dancers elevate the performance with their athleticism and artistry. This year, audiences will enjoy the talents of five-time World Champion David Geaney, two-time World Champion Tyler Schwartz, All Britain Champion and Riverdance alumnus Noel Spillane, and Nathan Pilatzke, a four-time Canadian Stepdance Champion and Chieftains alumnus.
Together, they’ll create an unforgettable evening, guaranteed to get you in the holiday spirit!

About the OCC Repertory Theater Company
Under the direction of Performing Arts Program Chair Paul Chalakani, the mission of the OCC/REP is to create opportunities for college and community participation in various rich and diverse theatrical experiences. The Company seeks to engage, entertain, inspire, and educate to enhance the cultural life of Ocean County College and the surrounding communities. The OCC/REP provides OCC students, faculty, staff, and residents of neighboring communities the opportunity to attend and/or participate in quality performances of theatrical works – musicals and plays, classical and modern, traditional and experimental, through a well-balanced theatrical season. Additionally, the OCC/REP provides an environment for students of our performing arts program to apply what they are learning in a collaborative and encouraging format. Ballet for Young Audiences: The Nutcracker

Join Ballet for Young Audiences as they present another year of this Grunin Center holiday tradition. This child-friendly production of The Nutcracker tells the story of Clara, the favorite godchild of Herr Drosselmeyer, a mysterious clockmaker who helps to transport Clara and her Nutcracker Prince to a special realm. This condensed version of the ballet is narrated to help young ballet enthusiasts enjoy the performance.
Please note that it is the Grunin Center Policy for all Family Shows that all attendees, regardless of age, require a ticket.
