Brad Williams: The Growth Spurt Tour

0

Pound for pound, Brad Williams is the funniest comedian in the country right now, and has become one of the most in-demand comedians working today. Williams started doing stand-up comedy as a teenager and has been touring successfully ever since, routinely selling out prestigious venues all over the country and world.
Williams has parlayed his live performances into a multitude of stand-up television appearances, including The Tonight Show, Dave Attell’s Comedy Underground, and Jimmy Kimmel Live. His first one-hour special, Fun Size, was the highest rated special on Showtime, and a year later, he followed that up with his second one, Daddy Issues, which was even more successful than the first. His third special in three years was an uproarious one, hosting some of the edgiest comedians in the country from the prestigious Montreal Just For Laughs Festival. His last groundbreaking special on Netflix, The Degenerates, garnered more huge ratings and rave reviews.
Also an accomplished actor, Williams has appeared on numerous TV shows and feature films, including FX’s Legit, Sam and Cat, Mind of Mencia, Pitboss, a recurring role on the Hulu original show Deadbeat, and memorable roles in a plethora of movies, including Little Evil, produced by Scott Stuber (Ted), as well as the Netflix original Christopher Guest film, Mascots, and most recently Reno 911: It’s A Wonderful Heist.
Recently, Brad became the first stand-up comedian to headline a Cirque de Soleil show in their 30 year history, when he agreed to launch—and do a three month run of—their newest show Mad Apple, at the magnificent 1200 seat New York New York Theater in Las Vegas. The show became an immediate smash hit to rave revues, singling out Williams for his incredible ability to captivate his audiences with his extraordinary performances.
In addition to stand-up and acting, Williams co-created and co-hosted one of the most successful podcasts in the world, with friend and fellow comic Adam Ray, entitled About Last Night, which was always a mainstay on the iTunes charts during their five year run. Additionally, he is also a regular contributor with a series of incredibly funny appearances on several national radio and podcast platforms, including KROQ’s Kevin and Bean Show and The Adam Carolla Show.
Williams’ humorous and inspiring observations on disability, relationships, sex, and race consistently win over audiences; proving anyone can overcome their shortcomings. His high energy live performances frequently produce standing ovations from audience members; which prompted the late Robin Williams to call him “Prozac with a head.”

Il Divo By Candlelight

0

For over 20 years, Il Divo has embodied the power of music, brotherhood, and artistic evolution. Since their debut in 2004, the iconic quartet, formed today with —Urs Bühler (tenor, Switzerland), Sébastien Izambard (tenor, France), David Miller (tenor, USA), and Steven LaBrie (baritone, USA)—have redefined classical crossover, captivating audiences worldwide with their breathtaking vocals and electrifying performances.
With over 30 million albums sold, 50 #1 hits, and 160 Gold and Platinum certifications across 35 countries, their impact is undeniable. They have graced the world’s grandest stages, from the Summer Olympics and FIFA World Cup to the Diamond Jubilee at Windsor and the Commander-in-Chief’s Ball.
In 2021, Il Divo faced an immense loss with the passing of co-founder Carlos Marín due to COVID-19. Honoring his memory, the remaining members embarked on the Greatest Hits Tour in 2022, where baritone Steven LaBrie joined as a guest performer. A year later, Steven officially became a full-time member.
With this new chapter, Il Divo entered the studio in 2023 in Coconut Grove, FL, with producer Carlos Fernando Lopez to record their tenth album and first independent release, XX: 20th Anniversary Album [Il Divo Music/Thirty Tigers]. It marked a series of firsts—their first album with Steven, their first release under their own label, Il Divo Music, and their first time serving as Executive Producers, with Sébastien also taking on the role of Co-Arranger.
“When you listen to XX, we hope it takes you on a journey between modern music and opera,” says Sébastien. “Our voices remain true to who we are, but our approach has evolved, capturing a wide emotional spectrum.”
“Whether you’ve been with us for 20 years, five years, or just a few hours, we want you to feel moved by the music,” adds Urs. And it is this connection with fans that fuels Il Divo’s next adventure.
Following two years of global promotion for XX: 20th Anniversary Album, Il Divo will return to Europe in the summer of 2025 before embarking on their new world tour, Il Divo By Candlelight, in both Latin America and the USA in the Fall.
“We want to perform in theaters, creating an intimate experience where fans feel part of the performance,” explains David. “We’ve challenged our creative team to design a show that is elegant and immersive, yet never overshadowed by production.” “We want the music to speak for itself,” adds Steven.
Il Divo By Candlelight will take audiences on a journey through two decades of romance, heartache, and joy, weaving their greatest musical triumphs into an unforgettable evening. In the U.S., they will be joined by Phoenix-based string trio Simply Three, who will also open the shows.

The Mavericks

0

The Mavericks have always been explorers.
For decades, they’ve created the kind of multicultural Americana that reaches far beyond America itself, blending their favorite stateside sounds — including rock & roll, country, and R&B — with Tex-Mex twang, Cuban rhythms, Jamaican ska, and other Latin influences. The exploration continues with Moon & Stars, a progressive album that finds Raul Malo and company continuing to push the envelope, exploring the outer orbits of an organic, otherworldly sound that remains entirely their own.
“This record took us to places we’ve never gone before,” says frontman, co-producer, and chief songwriter Malo, whose voice — a booming baritone that continues to age like top-shelf whiskey and fine leather, becoming richer and more pliable with each album — remains one of the band’s calling cards. “It’s a collection of tales from the universe. We’ve traveled around the world, gathering new stories and new sounds, and this is what we have to show for it. Moon & Stars is our cosmic energy put into practice.”
On “Moon & Stars’’ 11 songs, The Mavericks are larger than life: not only musically, but literally, too, thanks to an expanded roster that features a three-part horn section, an accordionist, and a guest list stocked with powerhouse singers like Nicole Atkins, Maggie Rose, and Sierra Ferrell. Songs like the album’s tropical title track prove there’s strength in numbers, with Ferrell and Malo piling their voices into thickly-stacked harmonies over a Cuban charanga groove. Rose appears on “Look Around You,” an album highlight that splits the difference between timeless country-soul and classic R&B. Saxophonist Max Abrams takes centerstage on “Here You Come Again” to channel the steamy 1980s textures of George Michael’s “Careless Whisper,” while Atkins adds sauce and swagger to “Live Close By (Visit Often),” a roadhouse roots-rocker whose horn arrangement nods to the influence of Stax Records and Muscle Shoals.

Little Feat: Strike Up The Band Tour

0

The members of Little Feat emerged from the pandemic with their sense of humor, chops, and collective joy in playing intact. Over the past three years, they’ve focused tours on their epic live album Waiting for Columbus and re-issues of their second through fourth albums (Sailin’ Shoes, Dixie Chicken, and Feats Don’t Fail Me Now. Audience response has been rapturous.
The band builds on a deep, over 50-year history. Little Feat used a combination of elite musicianship and brilliant, idiosyncratic songwriting to create a repertoire that transcends all boundaries. California rock, funk, folk, jazz, country and rockabilly mixed with New Orleans swamp boogie led to a powerful sound that has kept the audience dancing for decades.
Their groove – in songs like “Dixie Chicken,” “Spanish Moon,” “Fat Man in the Bathtub,” and “Feats Don’t Fail Me Now” – was so infectious it allowed them to endure and press on even when losing their founder, Lowell George, and founding drummer, Richie Hayward. They’re in top form now with Scott Sharrard on lead/vox and Tony Leone on drums/vox, and with founder Bill Payne on keys/vox, Fred Tackett on guitars/vox, Kenny Gradney on bass, and Sam Clayton on percussion/vox.
Now it’s time for something new. Their creativity has been renewed, and 2024 will see the release of the brand-new Sam’s Place, in which Feat backs their linchpin conga player, Sam Clayton, on vocals. The album features a new song, “Milk Man,” by Sam, Scott, and Fred. There’s a live version of “Got My Mojo Working.” Sam and Bonnie Raitt duet on Muddy’s “Long Distance Call.”
Sam’s Place scratches a deep itch. Sam added, “I’m very happy because I was never expecting anything like that. I mean, I have wanted to, but I just wasn’t expecting it to come to the fruition. It was a long wait, but it’s satisfying.”

Yächtley Crëw

0

On June 18th, Yacht Rock Royalty Yachtley Crew released their new single and original song “Pain Of Losing You” via Earache Records. The song was written by the iconic and multi-award-winning songwriter Diane Warren and will be featured on the group’s upcoming album Seas The Night, set for release on September 19, 2025.
“Pain Of Losing You” was produced by Chris Lord-Alge (Stevie Nicks, Steven Tyler, Keith Urban, Bruce Springsteen, Green Day) and mastered by Ted Jensen (Eagles, Norah Jones, Evanescence, Alice in Chains, James Taylor) at Lord-Alge’s studios in Los Angeles.
“Our new song “Pain Of Losing You” was written by none other than the legendary songwriter Diane Warren…and it’s a fun story of how it came about. We heard through our manager Andy Gould that Diane was a fan of Yachtley Crew and loves the genre yacht rock. When Andy was speaking with her about our upcoming album, Seas The Night, she told Andy that she had a song that she thought would be a perfect fit in the yacht rock genre and for Yachtley Crew to record as an original. That’s when we heard the song ‘Pain Of Losing You’ and we knew that we had to record it. Honestly, it’s a dream come true to get to record a song written by someone as iconic as Diane Warren, and our producer Chris Lord-Alge knew exactly what to do to get it to sound like the Crew.” Yachtley Crew
“It was a pleasure working on an “original” song with the band, thank you Diane for such a great one. From playing so many shows they are a fine- tuned machine and after learning the track it came together very quickly. Phillip is a great singer and really sold the song. Rob and Chaz built a great foundation while Tommy, Matt, Paul and Stoney brought all the flavors needed to make a fantastic song. They all sing and always have great ideas. It’s a pleasure producing all the Yachtley Crew music ! “ Chris Lord-Alge
“Pain of Losing You” is the 2nd single from Yachtley Crew’s upcoming album Seas The Night album and follows the release of the band’s cover of the Boz Scaggs classic “Lowdown”. “Lowdown is accompanied by a video that captures footage from some of Yachtley Crew’s sold-out international and U.S. shows. The band are fresh on the heels of an Australian tour and are currently on the 3rd leg of their 2025 Seas The Night tour, with dates scheduled through November, including their longstanding residency at KAOS at The Palms Casino & Resort in Las Vegas, NV.

An Evening with the Violent Femmes

0

Violent Femmes formed in 1981 as an acoustic punk band playing on the streets of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Their main influences at that time were Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps and The Velvet Underground. Their goal was to rock harder than any other acoustic act on the planet.
After being rejected for an audition by a local nightclub, the Femmes set up outside a Pretenders gig and began to play. Pretenders’ lead singer Chrissie Hynde asked them to open that night’s show, which gave the young band a publicity boost and caught the attention of Richard Hell, who invited the Femmes to open for him in NYC. A rave review in the New York Times eventually led to a record deal, which in turn spawned worldwide touring.
Violent Femmes eponymous debut album became the first and only album in Billboard history to enter the charts with a platinum certification- eight years after its release. Over the ensuing three decades, the Femmes became a mainstay of festivals, clubs, and theaters in more than 20 countries worldwide.
MTV’s “Unplugged” show was inspired by the Femmes, although they never actually appeared on it. Their raw sound and honest lyrical perspective has been cited as an influence by artists as diverse as Pink, Keith Urban, The Smiths, The Pixies, John Cusack, Mark Morris, and Wim Wenders.
More than 40 years into their careers, Violent Femmes continue to attract young audiences on tour, create lasting music, and inspire people of all ages.
