Toad the Wet Sprocket – Rings: The Acoustic Tour

October 30 @ 8:00 PM
Free

Few bands have earned the kind of devotion Toad the Wet Sprocket inspires. Since forming in Santa Barbara in 1986, four friends, Glen Phillips, Todd Nichols, Dean Dinning, and Randy Guss, met in a high school theater group and named themselves after a fictional band from a Monty Python skit. Their debut album, Bread & Circus, was recorded DIY-style in a tract home for just $600 and caught the attention of Columbia Records, launching a career defined by an uncompromising independent spirit. That spirit paid off when Fear went platinum in 1991, spawning top-20 hits All I Want and Walk on the Ocean, followed by a second platinum album, Dulcinea, featuring fan favorites Fall Down and Windmills. Their music became the soundtrack to a generation, turning up in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dawson’s Creek, and the platinum-selling Friends soundtrack. After reuniting in 2006, the band marked its 40th anniversary in 2026 with Rings: The Acoustic Sessions, an album reimagining their most beloved songs, followed by this fall’s Rings: The Acoustic Tour, their very first all-acoustic tour, born from special acoustic segments the band had woven into their live shows over the years.
