Summer Streets 2026: Jersey Swamp Cats – in Maplewood Village
The Jersey Swamp Cats are a lively quartet from Orange, New Jersey, known for their energetic blend of blues, New Orleans R&B, early rock and roll, rockabilly, and jump blues. The band, featuring Gerry Gladston on piano, Filthy Rich McPherson on guitar and vocals, Chris Reardon on drums, and Larry Ghiorsi on bass, delivers creative, swampy renditions of classics by Fats Domino, Albert Collins, and Professor Longhair alongside original tracks like Cupcake and Shiny Gray Corvette that showcase their playful, retro sound. Their debut album, Go Cat Go, released in 2019, earned praise from Blues Blast Magazine and Elmore Magazine for its confident, self-assured take on the rockabilly tradition. Elmore called them a four-piece outfit that works the rockabilly sound expertly, delivering enjoyable, toe-tapping, dance-along stuff with quality, purpose, and drive from start to finish. Bringing swampy Louisiana echoes and high-blast rock and roll energy to Maplewood Village’s Summer Streets series, the Jersey Swamp Cats promise an evening built for dancing.
