Nine players who spent all or part of a recent season with the BlueClaws are headed to Arizona to represent the Phillies in the 2026 Arizona Fall League, one of professional baseball’s premier proving grounds for prospects on the doorstep of the major leagues. Play opens October 3 and runs through November 11, with a postseason to follow immediately after the regular slate wraps.
The Arizona Fall League has long served as an accelerated finishing school for players organizations want to see against a higher caliber of competition before the offseason ends, and the BlueClaws’ representation this year reflects real depth across the roster rather than a single standout name. Eight of the nine players will suit up for Surprise, joining fellow prospects from the Mets, Guardians, Rangers, and Royals organizations, while one will report to a separate club entirely.
The pitching staff makes up the bulk of the BlueClaws’ fall league presence. Right hander Keegan Batka enters the assignment coming off a 2026 season in which he went 3 and 3 with a 3.62 ERA across 24 appearances, striking out 47 batters over 37.1 innings. Ryan Dromboski, a product of Northern Burlington Regional High School in Columbus, New Jersey, gives the group a genuine local tie, having made five starts with the BlueClaws last year and 17 more this season, finishing with a 4.89 ERA while allowing just four earned runs across 20.2 innings over his final five outings, a strong closing stretch to build on heading into Arizona.
Estibenzon Jimenez, who pitched parts of two seasons with Jersey Shore, has emerged as one of the system’s more dominant relief arms this year with Double A Reading, posting a 7 and 0 record, a 2.84 ERA, and seven saves. Jose Pena Jr. brings a similarly strong statistical case, having posted a 2.59 ERA over 19 games with Jersey Shore this season while striking out 34 batters in just 24 innings. Left hander Kevin Warunek rounds out the pitching group, having returned from the injured list this year to allow just one run across 10.2 innings while striking out 14, a strong follow-up to his seven appearances with the BlueClaws the previous season.
The position player group carries its own share of intrigue. Catcher Kehden Hettiger, who hit .232 with eight home runs for the BlueClaws last year, including a walk-off winner against Aberdeen on May 6, brings a knack for big moments to the assignment. Infielder Aroon Escobar, who hit .256 with four home runs and 14 stolen bases across 46 games with Jersey Shore last season, adds speed and contact ability to the roster.
