Summer Dance Intensive with Rahway Dance Theatre

Give your child the chance to explore a world of movement with the 2025 Summer Dance Intensive, presented in partnership with Rahway Dance Theatre (RDT). This immersive program is perfect for students ages 9 to 18, providing a comprehensive curriculum that goes far beyond a typical dance class.

Participants will dive into a diverse range of styles, including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, West African Dance, and more. Taught by seasoned professionals, this program focuses not just on technique, but also on fostering self-expression and cultural awareness. The experience culminates in a special Family Performance at UCPAC’s Hamilton Stage on August 22, where students can proudly showcase their newfound skills.

Visual Arts Camp with NJ Artist Bernard Jackson

For the budding painter or sculptor in your family, UCPAC’s Visual Arts Camp offers a hands-on experience with renowned New Jersey artist and scenic designer, Bernard Jackson. Designed for children ages 8-12, this unique week-long camp provides an incredible opportunity to learn from a true industry veteran.

From Monday, August 25 to Friday, August 29, campers will receive a personal art kit complete with an easel, apron, and pallet knife, empowering them to create their own scenic boards from scratch. Bernard Jackson will guide them through the process, teaching them to use contrast, color, and texture to bring their creative visions to life. The camp concludes with an art show where these young artists can proudly display—and even sell—their work to the public!

Bernard Jackson’s impressive career includes working on hit shows like “Saturday Night Live” and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” as well as with director Spike Lee. He is passionate about inspiring the next generation of artists, making this camp a truly special and motivating experience.
