While the financial terms haven’t been officially disclosed, industry reports estimate the transaction at approximately $193.5 million.

In a joint statement, Kingswood partner Michael Niegsch and PIP partner Mark Genender expressed their enthusiasm:

“We are excited to partner with The Vitamin Shoppe team and help them build upon the success the business has enjoyed over the last 48 years.”

The firms plan to invest in several key areas:

  • Brand Partnerships: Enhancing relationships with third-party brands.
  • Product Development: Expanding research and development for The Vitamin Shoppe’s proprietary product lines.
  • Store Upgrades: Modernizing the store fleet across the nation.Globest
  • Digital Experience: Improving the omni-channel digital platform to deliver the best possible experience to customers.

This acquisition follows a challenging period for The Vitamin Shoppe’s parent company, Franchise Group Inc., which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 2024. Despite this, The Vitamin Shoppe, along with Pet Supplies Plus and Buddy’s Home Furnishings, continued operations under a restructuring plan.

For New Jersey residents, this acquisition could signal a revitalization of a beloved local brand. With plans for store upgrades and enhanced digital experiences, customers can look forward to an improved shopping journey.
