A New Jersey tech company just turned heads at a major event in Phoenix. EV Buddy, based in Edison, walked away with the Audience Choice Award at ITServe Alliance’s “Pitch to Rich” 2025, winning over investors, tech pros, and peers alike with its bold vision for on-the-spot vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) electric vehicle charging.
The recognition underscores a shift in how we think about roadside assistance. Instead of towing a stalled EV to a station, EV Buddy’s model delivers fast DC charging directly from one electric vehicle to another, eliminating downtime and transforming what “out of juice” means in real life.
At the presentation, Mike Cully, EV Buddy’s Chief Development Officer, recounted personal experience managing EV fleets, emphasizing how much time and cost could’ve been saved with true mobile charging. For Suresh Arya, the company’s CEO, the Award signified more than prestige—it validated that both consumers and technologists believe in this future.
Now the company is preparing to scale. Plans include a Gig Driver / Host Site Program enabling EV owners, rideshare operators, and property hosts to become local providers of V2V charge — turning idle vehicles into power stations. A crowdfunding push is also on the horizon to support multi-region pilots and accelerated production of their EVChargeShare™ units.
New Jersey’s innovation ecosystem benefits too. EV Buddy joins a growing roster of bold ventures pushing the state’s reputation in clean tech, mobility, and infrastructure solutions. As the demand for smarter, greener mobility builds, NJ may find itself in the fast lane.
