New Jersey’s craft beer scene has received high praise at the 2024 World Beer Cup, one of the most prestigious global competitions in the brewing industry. The competition, which began in 1996, celebrates brewing excellence and enhances consumer awareness of various beer styles and flavor profiles. This year, New Jersey breweries made a remarkable impact, bringing home several awards and showcasing their exceptional talent.

Bonesaw Brewing Co. in Glassboro took home a gold medal for their American-style brown ale, Lone Squirrel. Known for its rich, malty flavors and smooth finish, Lone Squirrel has earned a reputation for quality among craft beer enthusiasts. Bonesaw Brewing Co. has once again demonstrated their brewing prowess, cementing their place as a top player in the industry.

Kane Brewing Company, based in Ocean, also enjoyed significant success at the World Beer Cup. They secured a gold medal for their Dripping Maple, a wood and barrel-aged strong stout that boasts a complex blend of flavors with notes of maple and roasted malt. In addition, Kane Brewing Company won a bronze medal for their Belgian fruit beer, Field and Oak Golden Raspberry, which is celebrated for its balanced tartness and refreshing character. Ship Bottom Brewery in Beach Haven claimed gold for their Mermaid Brown Ale, a golden or blonde ale known for its crisp and clean profile with a hint of malt sweetness. This recognition highlights Ship Bottom Brewery’s commitment to crafting beers that appeal to a broad audience while maintaining high standards of excellence.

MudHen Brewing Co. from Wildwood also achieved gold at the competition, winning in the scotch ale category with their Wee Heavy Wilson. This rich, full-bodied scotch ale is celebrated for its deep flavors and smooth texture, earning MudHen Brewing Co. significant acclaim on an international stage.
