This closure is necessary for the installation of a new gas main, a project managed by Elizabethtown Gas and performed by Skoda Contracting Company.
The work is scheduled to occur on weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is expected to continue through mid-September, weather permitting. This extended closure means commuters will need to plan alternative routes for several weeks.
Detour information is as follows:
- Northbound on Schooley’s Mountain Road: Turn left onto Newburgh Road, then right onto Route 57. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Schooley’s Mountain Road, marking the end of the detour.
- Southbound on Mountain Avenue/Route 182/Schooley’s Mountain Road: Turn right onto Route 57, then left onto Newburgh Road. Continue straight to the intersection with Schooley’s Mountain Road to complete the detour.
