Athlete Spotlight: Dane Klewsaat — A Champion On and Off the Field
One of the standout athletes you might see this year is Dane Klewsaat, who has proudly represented SONJ for 27 years. Competing year-round in multiple sports, Dane exemplifies the values of hard work, resilience, and kindness. His mother, Gail, credits Special Olympics with teaching Dane critical life skills and instilling a deep sense of compassion and leadership.
Stories like Dane’s remind us why SONJ is about so much more than medals — it’s about community, confidence, and character.
Law Enforcement Torch Run – Lighting the Way to the Games
The excitement officially kicks off on June 6 with the Law Enforcement Torch Run, where more than 3,000 officers from across the state will run through their local communities carrying the Flame of Hope. Covering 26 legs and uniting law enforcement agencies in a powerful display of support, the run raises awareness and funds for SONJ and culminates in an inspiring Opening Ceremony at TCNJ.
