Atlantic City’s top-performing resort, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, is proving once again why it’s been the gold standard for more than 20 years. Even after two decades of dominance, Borgata isn’t coasting — it’s doubling down on reinvestment, rolling out two major upgrades in 2025 that set a new bar for gaming, nightlife, and guest experience.
The reimagined B Bar and a 25,000-square-foot Asian Gaming experience debuted in May, marking the most significant enhancements to the casino floor in Borgata’s history. These projects aren’t just cosmetic upgrades — they’re part of a deliberate strategy to keep Borgata ahead in Atlantic City’s highly competitive gaming market.

A Fresh Look for an Atlantic City Icon

The transformation of Borgata’s B Bar is immediately noticeable to anyone who steps onto the gaming floor. Designed by Avenue — the same design firm that refreshed the MGM Tower in 2023 — the bar now exudes Italian-inspired sophistication, with open sightlines, luxurious textures, and a more inviting atmosphere for meeting, mingling, and enjoying live entertainment.
“It’s the social heart of our casino floor,” said Borgata President and COO Niklas Rytterstrom. “We wanted a space that feels both elevated and fun — where guests can have a drink, play, and be part of the energy of the floor.”
The remodel took the B Bar down to the concrete and rebuilt it from the ground up, reopening May 9 with an aesthetic that blends natural tones, wood finishes, and lighter color palettes that will soon carry across the entire casino. Every table, chair, and wall covering is scheduled for a refresh over the next six to seven months, ensuring the whole property reflects this new design direction.
Borgata’s Largest Gaming Floor Upgrade Ever
The real showstopper is Borgata’s new Asian Gaming space — a gleaming 25,000-square-foot area with 51 gaming tables, a dedicated high-limit section, five private gaming salons, and a private bar. Designed by award-winning KNA Design, the space is rich in symbolic detail, from lucky red and gold accents to intricate woodwork, all inspired by Asian traditions and modern elegance.
Highlights include:
- Exclusive high-limit rooms with personalized service
- Multilingual hosts fluent in Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, and more
- Wireless charging at gaming areas
- Enhanced table game variety tailored to Asian players
- Noodles, a Pan-Asian dining concept first introduced at Bellagio in Las Vegas, serving authentic flavors from across Asia
“Every aspect of the experience was intentionally designed,” Rytterstrom said. “From the color palette to the food, we’re delivering something you can’t find anywhere else in Atlantic City.”
A Nine-Month Construction Feat
The ambitious expansion took nine months to complete, during which five gaming pits — including two Asian pits and the high-limit area — were temporarily closed. To offset the disruption, Borgata converted its Race Book into a temporary Asian gaming space, which proved surprisingly popular despite being a stopgap measure.
When the walls finally came down just before Labor Day 2024, guests returned to a transformed floor. “People walked in and were just wowed,” said James Bruno, Borgata’s Vice President of Casino Operations. “It was worth every bit of effort to deliver this.”
Record-Breaking Wins
The investment is already paying off. In May 2025, Borgata led all Atlantic City casinos in brick-and-mortar casino win, bringing in $51.1 million — a 14% jump from the previous year. June numbers were even better, with $76.7 million in revenue, up 19% year-over-year.
These results reinforce Borgata’s position as Atlantic City’s market leader and suggest that the upgrades are resonating with both loyal players and first-time visitors.
More Than a Casino — An Atlantic City Entertainment Hub
While the gaming upgrades grab headlines, Borgata’s commitment to entertainment remains strong. The resort’s 2025 calendar features major concerts and comedy acts, including:
- The Black Keys – August 9
- Elvis Costello & The Imposters with Charlie Sexton – September 19
- Sting – November 14 & 15
And that’s just the start — Borgata continues to book high-profile talent year-round, making it one of the city’s most reliable destinations for live entertainment.

Bridging the Gap Between Online and In-Person Play
With the rise of internet gaming, Borgata is also focused on integrating its online BetMGM customers into the in-person experience. Special events, such as simultaneous slot launches online and at the property, are designed to encourage digital players to visit the physical casino.
“It’s about creating that bridge,” Bruno explained. “We’re still learning how to convert the player who’s comfortable at home into someone who wants to come and feel the energy here.”
A City-Wide Renaissance
Borgata’s reinvestment is part of a broader Atlantic City resurgence. According to Gary Musich, President and CEO of Visit Atlantic City, hotels across the city have poured over $500 million into renovations in recent years.
“Borgata is leading by example,” Musich said. “These upgrades aren’t just about staying competitive — they’re about showing commitment to the people who visit, work, and live here.”
Looking Ahead
For Bruno and the Borgata team, the work is far from finished. More floor renovations are planned, including refreshed lighting, updated wall coverings, and a complete overhaul of seating and tables.
“It’s all about the guest experience,” Bruno said. “We’ll keep refining, adjusting, and fine-tuning until every detail is perfect. MGM Resorts believes in Atlantic City, and we’re fortunate to have their investment driving us forward.”
With its latest round of upgrades, Borgata isn’t just keeping up with the competition — it’s setting the pace for what a modern Atlantic City casino can be.
