Three Former First Ladies Share Secrets in Basking Ridge is A Must-See Show This Sunday

This Sunday, June 9, at 2:30 PM, the Sieminski Theater in Basking Ridge will host an extraordinary one-woman show, “TEA FOR THREE: Lady Bird, Pat & Betty.” This unforgettable performance, written by Eric H. Weinberger and Elaine Bromka, stars Emmy Award-winning actress Elaine Bromka, who brings to life the stories of three former First Ladies: Lady Bird Johnson, Pat Nixon, and Betty Ford.

A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Iconic First Ladies. “TEA FOR THREE” offers a witty and intimate reimagining of these remarkable women who suddenly found themselves in the national spotlight. The play provides a behind-the-scenes look at their lives, revealing the personal costs of what Mrs. Nixon famously called the “hardest unpaid job in the world.”

Through Bromka’s masterful performance, audiences will gain insight into the personalities and private lives of these First Ladies. The show deftly weaves in the presidents they stood beside, the social changes, and the political landscape of their times, making it a captivating experience for both men and women.

Critical Acclaim and Bromka’s Impressive Career. Critically acclaimed for its blend of humor and passion, “TEA FOR THREE” has been praised for its ability to humanize these historical figures and provide a fresh perspective on their experiences. Elaine Bromka, with over thirty years of experience in film, television, Broadway, and off-Broadway, delivers a performance that is both compelling and poignant.

Bromka is known for her roles in “Uncle Buck,” “Days of Our Lives,” “The Blacklist,” “Girls,” “ER,” “The Sopranos,” and “Law and Order,” among others. Her extensive background and talent make her portrayal of these First Ladies particularly nuanced and engaging.

The Inspiration Behind the Play. The inspiration for “TEA FOR THREE” came when Bromka starred opposite Rich Little in “The Presidents,” which she performed nationwide and on PBS. Tasked with impersonating eight recent First Ladies, Bromka immersed herself in their lives, studying their body language and speech patterns. This deep dive into their personalities led her to want to tell their stories from their own perspectives.

“These were women of intelligence and grit who suddenly found themselves in a fishbowl,” Bromka observed. “I realized I wanted to tell the story from their point of view.”

Exploding Myths and Revealing Truths. One of Bromka’s goals with “TEA FOR THREE” is to explode myths about these women. For example, Pat Nixon was often called ‘Plastic Pat’ by the press because she always appeared smiling. However, Bromka notes, “Look more closely at her eyes. There’s nothing plastic about her. You see the eyes of a private, watchful survivor.”

Collaboration with Weinberger. Bromka’s collaborator, Eric H. Weinberger, is a Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Award nominee and the author of several off-Broadway plays. Together, Bromka and Weinberger focused on these three women, linking their stories by revealing each one at the threshold moment of the end of her time in the White House.

An Unmissable Performance. “TEA FOR THREE” is a heartwarming and enlightening eighty-minute performance that delves into the lives of three remarkable women who held a unique and challenging role in American history. Don’t miss this opportunity to see Elaine Bromka’s incredible portrayal of Lady Bird Johnson, Pat Nixon, and Betty Ford.

Purchase your tickets today and join us for an afternoon of storytelling, history, and an intimate look at the lives of three iconic First Ladies.

Jersey Bred Is A Riveting Tale of Loyalty, Betrayal, and Power in the Digital Age

“Jersey Bred,” an upcoming crime drama, promises to captivate audiences with its intricate portrayal of power struggles within the New Jersey mob. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Vincent Rossi, the film explores themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the collision of tradition with modernity through the lens of two childhood friends turned adversaries.

A Modern Mob Prince. The film centers around Tony “Tech” Giordano, portrayed by rising star Michael Corleone, a tech-savvy mob prince who has embraced the digital age to fortify his family’s empire. Unlike the old guard, Tony uses his skills in cybersecurity, data manipulation, and cutting-edge technology to outmaneuver rivals and expand his influence. His approach represents a significant departure from the traditional, muscle-driven methods of his predecessors, making him a formidable and innovative leader.

Tony’s journey from a gifted child with a passion for computers to the heir apparent of the Giordano crime family sets the stage for a compelling narrative. His tech-driven strategies not only revolutionize the family’s operations but also attract the attention of both allies and enemies within the criminal underworld.

A Challenging Rivalry. The plot thickens with the return of Salvatore “Sal” Russo, played by seasoned actor Dominic Vitti, Tony’s former childhood best friend and now his fiercest rival. Sal, who embodies the traditional mobster ethos, believes in the power of loyalty, brute force, and street smarts. Having spent years building his own faction, Sal returns to New Jersey with a single goal: to reclaim what he believes is rightfully his.

The dynamic between Tony and Sal is a central pillar of “Jersey Bred.” Their relationship, once marked by deep camaraderie, has soured into a fierce rivalry fueled by ambition, past grievances, and divergent visions for the future of the mob. This clash between old and new, technology and tradition, creates a riveting and tension-filled storyline.

Themes of Loyalty and Betrayal. “Jersey Bred” delves deep into the complex emotions and motivations that drive its characters. Loyalty, a cornerstone of the mob world, is examined from multiple angles. Tony’s loyalty to his family’s legacy and Sal’s loyalty to the traditional codes of the mob come into direct conflict, leading to a series of high-stakes confrontations.

Betrayal is another key theme. As Tony and Sal vie for control, alliances are tested, secrets are uncovered, and the line between friend and foe becomes increasingly blurred. The film’s narrative intricately weaves these themes, providing a thought-provoking look at how power and ambition can corrupt even the strongest of bonds.

A Stellar Cast and Direction. Vincent Rossi, known for his gritty and authentic storytelling, directs “Jersey Bred” with a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of mob culture. Rossi’s direction ensures that the film maintains a balance between intense action sequences and poignant character development, creating a cinematic experience that is both thrilling and emotionally resonant.

The cast, led by Michael Corleone and Dominic Vitti, delivers powerful performances that bring depth and nuance to their characters. Corleone’s portrayal of Tony captures the complexity of a man caught between two worlds, while Vitti’s Sal exudes the charisma and menace of a classic mobster. The supporting cast, including veterans like Maria Bellucci as Tony’s mother and Joe “The Hammer” Montello as Sal’s enforcer, further enriches the film’s narrative landscape.

Anticipation and Impact. As “Jersey Bred” gears up for its release, anticipation is building among crime drama enthusiasts and general audiences alike. The film’s exploration of modern technology’s impact on traditional crime, coupled with its timeless themes of loyalty and betrayal, positions it as a standout addition to the genre.

“Jersey Bred” promises not only to entertain but also to provoke thought about the evolving nature of power and the enduring human emotions that drive us. In a world where the old and new constantly collide, the film invites viewers to ponder the true cost of ambition and the fragile nature of trust and friendship.

With its compelling storyline, stellar cast, and masterful direction, “Jersey Bred” is set to make a significant mark on the cinematic landscape, offering a fresh and riveting take on the mob genre.

Jersey Bred is now Streaming On-Demand on Sunset!
