Thai Chef Jr.
Description
Thai Chef Jr. Opening Soon in Dumont – A New Chapter in Thai Cuisine
A fresh addition to Dumont’s culinary scene, Thai Chef Jr. is set to open its doors next week, bringing delicious and authentic Thai takeout to the heart of Bergen County. The new restaurant is founded by Artisha Premon and Carlos Alvarez Jr., a dynamic fiancé duo with deep roots in New Jersey’s Thai food culture.
Although Thai Chef Jr. is a new venture, the name carries a rich family legacy. Artisha’s father, Chef Veera Premon, was the driving force behind several well-loved Thai Chef locations across the state, including spots in Montclair, Westwood, and Hackensack. While Chef Veera retired during the pandemic, his influence and signature recipes continue to inspire the new restaurant, which will offer a more casual and convenient take on traditional Thai dishes.
The opening of Thai Chef Jr. holds significant personal meaning for Artisha and Carlos, as it symbolizes their journey of resilience and recovery after losing their home in a devastating house fire two years ago. The couple is passionate about keeping their family’s culinary traditions alive while making Thai cuisine accessible for today’s fast-paced lifestyle. Unlike the formal, sit-down dining experience of the original Thai Chef locations, Thai Chef Jr. focuses on providing high-quality, affordable Thai food in a takeout format, ideal for those on the go.
The grand opening is set for next Friday, October 10th, and locals can look forward to enjoying fresh, flavorful dishes with the same beloved taste that has made the Thai Chef name a staple in New Jersey’s dining scene.
