Get ready, Journal Square—there’s a new game day destination on the horizon. JJ Sports Bar is gearing up to open its doors at 4 PATH Plaza, right in the heart of Jersey City’s bustling Journal Square neighborhood. This exciting new addition is set to bring cold beer, classic bar bites, and all the live sports action you could ask for—just steps from the PATH station.
The upcoming venue will fill a long-vacant space formerly occupied by Emma’s, and before that, P.J. Ryan’s—making it a prime location with plenty of potential, especially with the surge of new high-rise developments and residents pouring into the area.
Operated by JJ Sora LLC, the new sports bar is backed by local business owner Jay Sorathiya, known for his work in construction and hospitality ventures across New Jersey. Though JJ Sports Bar is still keeping things under wraps (with no official social media or website just yet), temporary signage already hints at a casual, fun-loving atmosphere with beer, food, and games.
As Jersey City’s Journal Square undergoes one of its biggest transformations in decades, JJ Sports Bar is poised to become a new favorite for locals, commuters, and sports fans alike. It will also join Teriyaki One Japanese Grill, another newcomer set to open nearby—adding even more flavor and variety to this rapidly changing part of town.
