New Jersey Documentary Film Festival to Screen From Good Homes’ ‘Charlie Loves Our Band’

New Jersey hick-pop jamband From Good Homes has announced the release of Charlie Loves Our Band, a documentary film that retells the story of the group’s fabled past, as told by friend and producer Victor Guadagno. The movie is scheduled to premiere at the New Jersey Documentary Film Festival on May 13 in Sparta Township, N.J.

Charlie Loves Our Band digs into the history of childhood friends Todd Sheaffer, Brady Rymer, and Patrick Fitzsimmons. A group of rural New Jersey teens and the first members of what would become From Good Homes.

Guadagno breaks down the past of a band initially known as the Old Crow, evolved into The Dogs and finally cemented themselves as From Good Homes with lineup additions Dan Myers and Jamie Coan. Together, they created a name for themselves on the live music scene by generating a deep sense of community within their fanbase and putting on highly energized, exciting live performances.

They disbanded in 1999, and each member went on to focus on individual projects. Finally, the unit reunited in 2009 and released the LP Time and the River in 2019. Since then, they have continued to tour and write new music. Charlie Loves Our Band will debut at the New Jersey Documentary Film Festival on Friday, May 13.

This weekend, New Jersey’s Rutherfurd Hall, a Gilded Age mansion in Allamuchy Township, Warren County, is hosting a film festival.

It brings together professionals, amateurs and high school students.

Filmmaker Scot Wittman, and administrative assistant Morgan Gardiner joined Bo Koltnow and Karin Mallett on 69 News at Sunrise to talk more about the event.

“The point we’d like to really get across with the festival… is that we want to celebrate all Garden State filmmakers or people with even just the connection to the Garden State, ” Gardiner said.

He said the film fest will showcase a wide range of abilities, genres, topics and people.

“I’m really excited to not only be a part of this myself, but when I started reading the titles and the different filmmakers, that really excited me that,” said Wittman. “I get to sort of be in the front row seats to see other artists showing their work, which is really wonderful, because I know they’re just as passionate as I am.”

Watch the full interview in the video window above.

The film festival is set for Sunday from 1-6 p.m., and it’s broken up into three different blocks of time, with live Q&A sessions in between.

Here we go! Summer concerts for 2022 are about to start at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. The fun kicks off this weekend with Coldplay playing two nights on Saturday, June 4th, and Sunday, June 5th. Expect a fantastic couple of shows performed by Coldplay. Did you know they called themselves “Starfish”, before coming up with the name Coldplay?

Not many MetLife concerts are scheduled for the summer, but the list is very special. The one show I have circled on my calendar is Lady Gaga. She will be performing on Thursday, August 11th. I won’t sit here and say I know every Gaga song, but I think it will be an awesome experience getting to see her sing in person. The 2022 summer schedule is below…

MetLife Stadium:

MetLife Stadium, located in East Rutherford, NJ, is the home of the New York Jets and New York Football Giants. It is one of the largest stadiums in the NFL with a capacity of 82,500.
