SUMMARY:Parade
DESCRIPTION:“Parade”: A Haunting Journey Through American History \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrice: $40.00 (Includes Tax + Service Fee) Dates: September 05 – September 28\, 2025 Special Features: American Sign Language (ASL) interpreted performance available on the Orange date. Hearing enhancers are also provided at the tech booth for every performance\, on a first-come\, first-served basis (quantities are limited). \n\n\n\nPrepare for a deeply moving and thought-provoking theatrical experience with “Parade\,” the acclaimed Tony Award-winning musical. This powerful production delves into a dark chapter of America’s past\, exploring the true story of Leo Frank\, a Jewish factory manager wrongly accused of murder in 1913 Georgia amidst a backdrop of rampant religious intolerance\, political injustice\, and racial tension. \n\n\n\nWith a compelling book by the celebrated playwright Alfred Uhry\, known for his Pulitzer Prize-winning “Driving Miss Daisy\,” and a magnificent\, haunting score by the three-time Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown (composer of “Songs For a New World\,” “The Last Five Years\,” and “The Bridges of Madison County”)\, “Parade” is a masterclass in storytelling. It meticulously examines how prejudice and fear can distort justice\, while simultaneously celebrating the enduring power of love and hope in the face of overwhelming adversity. \n\n\n\nThe musical is based on the infamous 1913 trial and subsequent lynching of Leo Frank. Frank\, a Brooklyn-raised Jew living in Atlanta\, was accused of killing 13-year-old Mary Phagan\, an employee at the factory he managed. Fueled by sensationalist media and rampant antisemitism\, the trial became a national scandal. Despite inconsistencies in testimony and a lack of credible evidence\, Frank was convicted. His death sentence was later commuted by the governor\, leading to his abduction from prison and lynching by an angry mob. “Parade” powerfully brings this harrowing narrative to the stage\, reminding audiences of the dangers of unchecked bigotry and the fight for truth. \n\n\n\nImportant Note: This production is best suited for mature audiences aged 17 and above due to its exploration of sensitive historical themes\, strong language\, and mature content. \n\n\n\nBooking Information: To secure your tickets\, simply select your desired date and time\, then choose your seats. SUMMARY:THE ORCHESTRA Starring ELO and ELO Part II Former Members
DESCRIPTION:The story starts in 1970 in Birmingham\, England\, where the Electric Light Orchestra began their journey as one of the world’s most popular rock bands. Their music was characterized by a fusion of Beatlesque pop\, classical arrangements\, and futuristic iconography.\nMik Kaminski joined the band in 1973 with his legendary blue violin. The classic lineup of ELO solidified in 1974 with the addition of bassist/singer Kelly Groucutt and orchestrator Lou Clark\, who augmented the band’s unique orchestral rock sound with his inventive classical arrangements. Mik\, Lou\, and Kelly played their way onto an astonishing library of hit records that sold more than 50 million copies. The albums include Eldorado\, Face the Music\, A New World Record\, Out of the Blue\, Discovery and Xanadu.\nAfter the original line-up of ELO broke up in 1986\, drummer Bev Bevan created ELO Part II in 1988 with English guitarist Pete Haycock\, American keyboardist and songwriter Eric Troyer\, and ELO former members Kaminski\, Clark\, Groucutt\, and cellist Hugh McDowell. The band later recruited English guitarist Phil Bates to fill out the lineup. Groucutt\, Bates\, and Troyer were all accomplished lead and harmony singers which provided an abundance of vocal riches that pushed the band’s classic sound into fresh sonic territory. Phil Bates left ELO Part II in 1998 and was replaced by American singer\, songwriter\, and guitarist Parthenon Huxley.\nIn late 1999 drummer Bevan retired and was replaced with American drummer Gordon Townsend. The band began touring as THE ORCHESTRA in 2000. The new lineup released a brilliant album called No Rewind. The album features original songs by Kaminski\, Troyer\, Huxley\, and Groucutt\, as well as a stunning interpretation of “Twist and Shout.”\nNine years later in 2009\, THE ORCHESTRA bassist and congenial front man\, Kelly Groucutt\, suddenly passed away the day after performing a concert with the group in Berlin\, which was a devastating shock to the band and to class rock fans around the world. His boyhood home features a plaque honoring Kelly’s accomplishments with ELO. THE ORCHESTRA recruited occasional ELO Part II member and former Styx bassist\, guitarist\, songwriter\, and singer Glen Burtnik to fill Kelly’s spot center stage.\nWhile Lou Clark’s multi-talented son\, Louis Clark Jr.\, worked with ELO Part II in the 90s\, he became a permanent band member with THE ORCHESTRA in 2011. The father and son team lived the dream of performing together onstage around the world until 2021 when Louis Clark Sr. passed away. Louis Jr. now carries on in his late father’s role as orchestral keyboardist and symphonic conductor\, along with the occasional romp on cello and guitar.\nThese days multi-instrumentalist Cliff Hillis joins the band on select shows and brings an extra layer of vocals\, guitar\, and sometimes bass to THE ORCHESTRA’s dynamic sound. In 2024\, the documentary No Rewind: The Orchestra Starring ELO Former Members was released\, providing rare behind-the-scenes band footage\, stories of life on the road\, and performances of each song from the album No Rewind. Edited together in a music video style\, the film is a fast-moving reveal of how this iconic band has earned its place in rock and roll history.\nOver the years the members of THE ORCHESTRA have played ELO’s greatest hits to millions of fans in over fifty countries.

SUMMARY:Save Ferris
DESCRIPTION:SAVE FERRIS is a ska-punk band formed circa 1995 in Orange County\, Southern California. Their name is a reference to the 1986 filmFerris Bueller’s Day Off.The band formed after the dissolution of a number of Southern California bands. With Monique Powell as manager\, front person\, and co-songwriter\, the band began to book shows around Southern California to a great underground response.Financed by Powell’s sister\, the band released their debut EP “Introducing SAVE FERRIS” on Powell’s label\,Starpool Records\, in 1996. They ended up selling close to 20\,000 copies of their EP out of the trunks of their cars\, with huge support from Orange County independent record shops and fans. That year\, Powellprovided vocals on theReel Big Fishsong “She Has A Girlfriend Now” on their album “Turn the Radio Off” (Mojo). With Powell as manager and lead\, and as favorites of KROQ radio’s legendaryRodney on the Rock\, SAVE FERRIS created a presence on LA’s KROQ radio\, possibly being the first unsigned band to do this in LA alternative radio history. Later that year\, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences gave the band a Grammy showcase award for best unsigned band\, earning them a recording contract withEpic Records(SONY).The band released their debut full-length album for Epic in 1997. “It Means Everything” featured several re-recorded tracks from the EP\, several new songs\, and\, on Powell’s urging\, a cover of Dexy’s Midnight Runners’ “Come on Eileen\,” which the band released as their first official single\, and what was to become their most successful single. The band also released “The World is New” as a single which was featured in the film “The Big Hit” starring Mark Wahlburg. Olympic medal winnerTara Lipinski used “The World is New” in her debut program as a professional skater in the nationally telecast 1998 Skate TV Championships.\nThe band toured extensively in support of “It Means Everything”\, opening for bands such as Sugar Ray\, The Offspring\, and Reel Big Fish. In April 1998\, they made their television debut on HBO’s music series “REVERB” and made an on-screen appearance in the cult classic teen film\, “10 Things I Hate About You”. The album sold over 400\,000 copies\, and spawned three Top Ten hits in both Japan and Mexico. With two singles in the Billboard top 100 and full rotation on alternative radio all over the world\, SAVE FERRIS has managed to go Platinum internationally.Winter 1998 saw the departure of their drummer. After a thunderously successful main stage tour with the Vans Warped Tour\, the band began writing their follow-up to “It Means Everything”. The appropriately-titled “Modified” was released in October 1999. The album saw the band moving away from their ska-punk roots and into pop-punk territory. The band toured nationally with the band “Lit”\, of hit single “My Own Worst Enemy” fame. SAVE FERRIS continued to tour in support of “Modified” throughout 2000 and 2001. In August and September 2001 the band did a short tourof the UK. Winter 2002\, SAVE FERRIS had the rare opportunity to play front and center at the nationally broadcast Winter Olympics Snowboarding Championships in Salt Lake City\, Utah.Still fronted by their original lead singer\, SAVE FERRIS has been through a number of changes in their musical lineup through the years…Powell self-financed whatshe called the “For the Fans” SAVE FERRIS US tour in 2003. On March 29\, 2003 at Ska Summit 2003 in Las Vegas\, SAVE FERRIS played on the main stage to a thunderously positive response.Other appearances of note Ms. Powell has made: “Mayor of the Sunset Strip” film\, “Roswell” network television show\, “The Conan O’Brien Show”\, “Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher”\, MTV’s Loveline with Dr. Drew\, the “Keenan Ivory Wayans” show\, and the “Late Show with Craig Kilbourne”.\nThe sold out Pacific Amphitheater at theOrange County Fair 7/27/13 marked the first appearance of SAVE FERRIS in ten years. Keep an eye out for Save Ferris’ return to a town near you soon\, as well as a new EP\, due out Summer of 2016…

SUMMARY:Alexa Stier\, piano
DESCRIPTION:This program explores the connection between bird calls\, nature\, and the supernatural. Rameau’s Tendres Plaintes evokes sighing\, melancholic gestures\, while Le Rappel des Oiseaux explores birdsong through elaborate ornamentations\, idiosyncratic to the French baroque keyboard style. In Olivier Messiaen’s Petites Esquisses d’Oiseaux\, robins\, blackbirds\, thrushes\, and skylarks emerge in vivid\, crystalline textures.\nSchumann’s Waldszenen transports the listener to a forest\, where nature is imbued with both beauty and mystery. Among these poetic vignettes\, Vogel als Prophet stands out as an enigmatic prophecy delivered through the voice of a bird. The program concludes with Prokofiev’s Piano Sonata No. 2\, a work that embodies what the pianist and scholar Boris Berman refers to as polypersonalia —a paradoxical blend of soaring lyricism\, aggressive brutality\, cabaret-like parody\, and mechanical precision. The third movement draws upon the rich tradition of skazki\, or Russian mystical fairy tales\, reminiscent of the music of Prokofiev’s older Russian contemporaries\, such as Rimsky-Korsakov and Medtner. Through these selections of works\, the program traverses a vast landscape of nature’s wonders\, supernatural whispers\, and human imagination.\nThis event is funded by the Ocean County College Foundation.

SUMMARY:Mary Fahl
DESCRIPTION:In an effort to find some light and comfort during these challenging times\, singer/songwriter Mary Fahl looks back to some of the essential music that has brought her sustenance and clarity by reinterpreting songs from her greatest inspirations … Pink Floyd\, George Harrison\, Moody Blues\, ELO\, The Rolling Stones\, Neil Young and others. For Mary\, this is a tribute to the music that defined her as an artist.\n\nWith “a voice for the gods that can transport listeners to other realms” (Boston Globe)\, Mary Fahl is an expressive\, emotional singer/songwriter who first achieved fame as lead singer and co-founder of the mid-1990s NYC- based chamber-pop group October Project\, a band known for their lush harmonies\, sweeping melodies and Fahl’s unique and powerful vocals. After two records on Epic\, Fahl went on to pursue her own muse\, whether that meant writing and recording songs for movies (including the theme for the Civil War epic “Gods and Generals”)\, singing arias and medieval Spanish songs for Sony Classical or releasing a unique album-length take on “Dark Side of the Moon”…
