It meticulously examines how prejudice and fear can distort justice\, while simultaneously celebrating the enduring power of love and hope in the face of overwhelming adversity. \n\n\n\nThe musical is based on the infamous 1913 trial and subsequent lynching of Leo Frank. Fueled by sensationalist media and rampant antisemitism\, the trial became a national scandal. Despite inconsistencies in testimony and a lack of credible evidence\, Frank was convicted.
