Bishop McDevitt QB Stone Saunders gets big honor

Add another honor to the list for Bishop McDevitt quarterback Stone Saunders.

The Crusaders sophomore quarterback was a PennLive All-PA pick, PennLive’s Mid-Penn Offensive Player of the Year, Gatorade’s Player of the Year for Pennsylvania and Maxpreps’ pick for the top player in the Keystone State, too.

And Sunday Saunders went to the Rivals Camp Series in New Jersey and took the quarterback MVP honor there. Those camps are typically loaded with talent so it is an impressive showing for Saunders.

The 6-foot-2, 200 pounder has been busy this spring touring schools and recently added Iowa and the University of Miami to his list of offers.

He also claims offers from Duke, Kentucky, West Virginia, James Madison. He also picked up Toledo, and he also has Rutgers, Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Texas A&M, Pitt, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Cincinnati, Minnesota, Syracuse, Kent State and Bowling Green.

He passed for 3,583 yards and 54 touchdowns with just five interceptions last season while leading his team to the 4A state title.
