Wrestling falls to Bombers 19-17

EWING, N.J.- The TCNJ Wrestling team fell to No. 15 Ithaca on Saturday in an insanely competitive matchup across the board. The Bombers benefitted from two major decisions and one technical fall on their way to victory.

Ryan Rosenthal, the 9th ranked wrestler at 125 lbs. continued his dominance against Matt Haycook. A near-fall in the closing seconds of the third secured the 15-3 major decision victory.

Nick Sacco extended his winning streak to nine matches in a row with his win at 165 lbs. Jackson Gray kept it close and competitive for as long as he could, but Sacco proved to be too much to handle as he picked up the 5-4 win.

Reid Colella proved why he is the twelfth best wrestler in the country at 174 lbs in his 4-2 decision win over Konrad Parker. Colella applied constant pressure on Parker and continued to improve as the match went on.

Quinn Haddad earned himself a major decision victory over Ryan Galka at 184 lbs. This win makes number 13 for him on the year and his sixth in a row.

Peter Wersinger also picked up his seventh win in a row on Saturday at 285 lbs. over Jeremy Mazzella. The match was deadlocked at four a piece until Wersinger came up with a massive takedown in the closing 30 seconds of the third.

TCNJ Wrestling is back on the mat next weekend, February 4th as they head to Hoboken with another ranked opponent in No. 12 Stevens starting at 11 AM.
